"TeatroIn ... Scuola" project is carried out following the planning of previous years, implemented in collaboration with the "Youth on the Move" Association and aimed at young people with disabilities, as the desire and the need of young people to dedicate themselves actively to new initiatives where they can become protagonists in the social community; this request, to be read as an opportunity in an era characterized by the need to strengthen social networks, to emerge from individualism and work to learn to enrich oneself with the diversity of others, has given life to a theatrical laboratory activity, of which the group young disabled people had already had the opportunity to gain experience, which becomes particularly significant in this context because it represents a means of communicating the value and skills that the disabled individual can offer, give and pass on to others.
The initiative involved the students of a secondary school in Rovigo (RO) because with them the disabled children share, in addition to age, sensitivity, interests and aspirations in a sort of intragenerational exchange in which young disabled people bring on the stage the competence who have finally and proudly matured, combining the reality of associations and institutions, disabilities and different skills, in the final perspective of the strengthening of social relations and voluntary work, of personal growth in its entirety and complexity.
The initiative intends to promote parallel courses and workshops, whose common goal is the realization of a theatrical show; the theatrical artistic means has been chosen for its peculiar characteristics, as it promotes an active involvement of the people, favors the fun and the integration among the participants, the putting into practice of the creativity of each one and in this case also foresees the possibility of transform the achievement of important personal goals into volunteer opportunities for others.
