With the project "Solidarity on stage", teenagers and elderly people are protagonists of activities of volunteering and promotion of the wellbeing of the other, through the collaboration for the realization of a theatre play. In the realization and the performance of the theatre play, both able-bodied boys and boys with slight disability, as well as self-sufficient and with light functional limitations and/or partially self-sufficient elderly people were involved in a single project of volunteering based on mutual help, approach to the diversity and the sharing of inter-generational competences for the development of the sense of community and solidarity. In this way, we intended to create an inter-generational link based on the positive and creative enhancement of the "diversity" between the disabled boys, the teenagers, the guests of residence for the elderly people of Rovigo and volunteers. Through the lab activities (theatre, musical, customs, and scene lab), we proposed ourselves to increase the participants' self-esteem, the auto-effectiveness, the creative learning and some cognitive aspects (memory, concentration, expressiveness, the interpersonal aspects and the ability to work in group).
Youngsters and elderly people will be the "actors" in every way of the lab and the theatre path, making use of the contribution of volunteers who will coordinate, steer and monitor the activity, starting from the need to stimulate the participation and the creativity of each one according to the personality and the interests of the participants. Some figures are foreseen: a theatre director, who will lead and organize the theatre labs and he will take care of the play of the final show and a psychologist, who will flank the director and the volunteers in a work of support concerning the various relational, communicative and personal problems which may occur. Moreover, the psychologist will help through a work tailored on the specific group which is done to enhance the cognitive, communicational and relational abilities to improve their own well-being, perceived both in connection with the self and in connection with the other. The theatrical representation was performed during an event proposed to the citizenship and the retirement homes of the territory.
