"We build together" tools for independence

The project "We build together: tools for independence" involves the creation of an Educational and Professional Centre in the village of Chipole (Tanzania) for the formation of people in the agricultural, breeding, building and plant fields as well as in the hygienic-sanitary aid, of whom there is a strong need in the territory, but which is totally missing in the local educational system. The project is directed at young people from 16 years of age and adults, with priority to women, who live in a condition of subordination as workers and people. The courses will be held at the building created by the Smile Africa Association, which will be a point of reference and a starting point of the work and entrepreneurship of the educated people. At the end of the education, each student, depending on the acquired skills, will get an internship in the artisan "firms" situated in the S. Agnes convent of Chipole, in the nearby villages, in the Health Center "Hope of Life", in the orphanage, etc...; in this way the newly-educated students will have the opportunity to make themselves known and being accepted by their fellow citizens, by making themselves useful in the maintenance, repair, building and management (each of its own part) of the building/structures, in which they will have to operate; we consider that this phase can trigger a virtuous circle, that can open to future job opportunities and therefore to an autonomous development of the local economy.
